Intersection Work Begins on SR 49

 

The Georgia Department of Transportation announces that the project to improve intersections on SR 49 at Old Macon/Chapman Road and Wade Green Jr. Parkway begins Tuesday, November 1.

The plans include improving the intersections on SR 49 at Old Macon/Chapman Road and SR 49 and W.E. Green Jr. Parkway in the City of Byron.

The intersection of SR 49 at Old Macon Road/Chapman Road will be closed and a new roadway will be constructed approximately 1200 feet to the west; aligned between SR 49 at W.E. Green Jr. Parkway and Old Macon Road at Woodland Road.

There will be a stop-and-go traffic signal installed at the intersection of SR 49 and W.E. Green Jr. Parkway.

Georgia Asphalt Company was awarded the contract for $994,592.36 with a current estimated completion date of December 31, 2012.

Mowing on State Route 42 in Crawford This Week

Mowing on State Route 42 in Crawford This Week

This week through Thursday, maintenance crews are scheduled to mow the shoulders of State Route 42 in Crawford County, a Georgia Department of Transportation news release says.

The mowing is scheduled between 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. September 26 through September 29.

 

I-75 Lane Closure This Weekend

I-75 Lane Closure This Weekend

Starting Friday night at 9 p.m. through 6 a.m. Monday, you'll find one lane closed on both I-75 North and South.

That lane closure is scheduled around Sabbath Creek and Arkwright Rd (exit 169).

Expected I-75 Double Lane Closure

A double lane closure is expected on I-75 southbound beginning Tuesday morning at 7 a.m. until 12 p.m., daily, Tuesday, September 13 through Wednesday, September 14, weather permitting.

This is taking place around mile marker 150.

Lane Closure on I-75 N to Assist Race Traffic

After the race on Sunday, September 4 until 3 a.m. on Monday, a lane will be closed on I-75 North to help alleviate Atlanta Motor Speedway traffic.

This lane closure occurs between mile markers 218 and 219.

 

The closure will assist exiting race traffic as it merges onto I-75 northbound from SR 20 eastbound.
