FORT VALLEY, GA - Can’t get enough football? If not, you can catch a preview of the 2012 Wildcats of Fort Valley State University (FVSU) during the annual Blue and Gold Scrimmage slated for Saturday, April 14th at 6 p.m. in Wildcat Stadium on the FVSU campus.

Geico Road Race to Benefit Special Olympics

A benefit for the Georgia Special Olympics, The Geico 5K Road Race, is set for Saturday, March 3rd. 

The fun starts at 9 a.m.

Special Olympics serves Baldwin, Crawford, Jasper, Jones, Monroe, Putnam, Twiggs, Upson and Wilkinson Counties.

22nd Annual Georgia National Rodeo

The Georgia National Rodeo will be at the Perry Fairgrounds from February 23rd - February 25th.  According to their website it will feature "specialty acts, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, tie down roping, steer wrestling, team roping, barrel racing, and bull riding."  The doors open at 6:30pm.

FVSU to Host All-Star Basketball Reunion

FVSU to Host All-Star Basketball Reunion

 

The Fort Valley State University Department of Athletics will host its inaugural All-Star Basketball Reunion Weekend Feb. 10-11 on campus. The two-day event is a tribute to all student-athletes, coaches, trainers, managers, statisticians and administrators who contributed to the legacy of the university’s basketball program. The reunion includes a weekend full of activities that culminate with the FVSU and Albany State University basketball match-up.

Reunion activities begin Friday, Feb. 10, with a meet and greet reception at 6:30 p.m. followed by the Alumni Basketball Game at 7:30 p.m. in historic Woodward Gymnasium. On Sat. Feb. 11, Lady Wildcats’ head basketball coach, Lonnie Bartley—who has 607 wins to date—is the keynote speaker at a noon luncheon in the Student Amenities Building. Later that day, the Wildcats and Golden Rams compete on the hard court. The women’s game begins at 6 p.m. in the Health and Physical Education Complex; the men play at 8 p.m.
