Neighborhood Association Holds Fall Contests

Everett Square Neighborhood Association New holds a fall decorating contest.

The Fall Decorating contest theme: "Happy Fall, Y'all"

Everyone is invited to decorate their home or business for fall by October 15.

A judge from out of town will determine first, second and third place.

Troup Corn, Laurens County: Features corn maze, hay ride, pumpkin patch and a mini-maze. Call 478-272-8170. Opens Saturday, Sept 24.
Twin Oaks Fun Farm, Monroe County. Features pumpkins and a corn maze. Open Oct. 1-Oct. 31
Our Cotton Pickin' Christmas Tree Farm, Hawkinsville. Check their Facebook page for updates.Pick your own pumpkin from the patch. Also enjoy cider or cocoa on the porch while the kids climb the hay mountain. Open 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Admission $5, kids (10 & under) get in free with a paying adult.

Buy a Boston Butt to Help Fund a Liver Transplant

A smoked Boston Butt fundraiser takse place on Oct. 15th in Byron to raise money for Tommy Powell, from Byron, who needs a liver transplant.Tickets are $25. A count is needed by October 1st so the butts can be ordered. Tommy needs a liver transplant and a group of caring friends are trying to raise money to help.

Pick up is at the Mickey Fuller Lodge between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday October 15th.
