Fill the Boot for Muscular Dystrophy

Fill the Boot for Muscular Dystrophy

The Crawford County Fire Department has its annual Fill the Boot drive for Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).

That's according to an MDA news release.

Firefighters will stand at intersections with their boots in hand. People can help fill the boots with donations for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The event will take place throughout the summer, beginning on June 4 and July 2.

The Fire Department raised $3,800 last year for MDA.

The funds the firefighters raise help fund MDA summer camp, where children, ages 6-17, will enjoy an activity-packed, week-long getaway at Camp Twin Lakes in Rutledge, Ga.

MDA is a voluntary health agency working to find treatments and cures for 43 neuromuscular diseases through programs of worldwide research, comprehensive medical and community services, and far-reaching professional and public health education.
