Puppet Show at Jailhouse Park

You can check out a puppet show this weekend at Jailhouse Park.

The traditional storybook skits and skits on the history of Byron are scheduled for Saturday, July 23 at 11 a.m.

Kids will also be able to create their own puppets at the Puppet Creation Station at 10 a.m.

Veterans Job Fair

A Veterans Job Fair is scheduled for Thursday, July 21 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter, Miller-Murphy-Howard Building in Perry.

This event is sponsored by The Georgia Department of Labor and The Middle Georgia Employer Committee.

If you'd like to set up a table, the fee is $95 for a covered table, chairs and lunch for employer representatives.

Checks can be made payable to Middle Georgia Employer Committee.

Celebrate Addition to Better Hometown at the Market

The Farmers and Artisans Market will include a celebration for Byron Better Hometown Manager Regina Mansfield's baby-to-be.

The market is scheduled for Saturday, July 9  from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Vegetables and crafts will be available for sale.

Refreshments will also be on hand to celebrate the baby on its way, Isabella. The Think Pink celebration is from 10 a.m. until noon.

The Peach County Chamber of Commerce hosts a grand re-opening and ribbon cutting for Farmers Home Furniture Thursday, July 7 at 10 a.m.

The furniture store is located at 200 N Camellia Blvd.

Farmers Home Furniture will have its Grand Re-Opening and Ribbon Cutting.

Saturday, June 25th at Jailhouse Park for Storytime at the Park. From 10 a.m.-noon we will have storytelling in the gazebo featuring some childhood classics from Mother Goose to Dr. Suess. Come dressed as your favorite storybook character and win a prize. FREE peanut butter and jelly sandwiches will be served. Bring a chair or blanket and enjoy hearing some great stories. If it’s too hot, we’ll move inside the air-conditioned Historic Jail. If you would like to volunteer to read aloud, please give Regina a call at 956-5555.
