Jones Zone | Who Will Win: Peach County or Perry?

Jones Zone | Who Will Win: Peach County or Perry?

The Jones Zone kicks off the 2012 football schedule this week! Ben and Lorra go head to head each week picking their game winners.

They want you to also weigh in and vote! This week, you can vote for Peach County vs. Perry, Tattnall vs. Westfield and Dublin vs. Dodge County.

Last year, Lorra took home the Jones Zone championship, but you, the fans, fought hard to make her win as narrow as possible. Even Ben wasn't far behind!

This year, we're starting fresh. Everyone's record is reset, and the challenge is back on!

If you're new to the Jones Zone, each week, Ben, Lorra, and the fans vote on who will win three games from around Central Georgia. The polls are located below, and you just choose who you think will win. Every Wednesday, Ben and Lorra will make their picks, but you can still vote until right up until the games start!

Shawty Slim Says DJing for B.o.B is Still Surreal

We talked to grammy-nominated hip hop artist B.o.B's official tour DJ Shawty Slim by email while they were away on tour. He says when he's home, in Downtown Macon, walking around and visiting Washington Park is one of the best things to do. Shawty Slim got his start spinning while in school at Fort Valley State University when an unpaid internship paid off and led to a first job with Macon's WIBB 97.9.

WMAZ: Tell us about the current tour.  Where have you been?
Shawty Slim: The current tour i'm on right now with B.o.B is for his new album, Strange Clouds, that dropped on May 1st. He's told us that he want to tour the world for two years, so I'm excited that I get to be apart of the efforts to make it happen successfully.

Roberta Native Meiko to Appear on Jay Leno Tuesday

Meiko, rising pop star who just released her sophomore album, "The Bright Side" is set to appear on Jay Leno Tuesday night.

Recently, we interviewed Meiko by phone. See what she had to say:

Meiko (pronounced Mee-ko) is a Roberta-native whose second major label record release, “The Bright Side," is getting a lot of attention. The album, on Meiko's Fantasy Records/Concord Music Group label, blends a folk-pop approach with fluid interjections of electronic beats. You may have already experienced Meiko's music in shows like "Grey's Anatomy," "One Tree Hill" and "Pretty Little Liars."

13WMAZ’s Jacqueline Harnevious caught up with Meiko by phone to talk about music and her roots in Central Georgia.
