 The Peach County High School Class of 1982 has their 30th Class Reunion during the weekend of PCHS homecoming. October 19th is the tailgating and game.

Saturday is the banquet at the American Legion on HWY 49 in Fort Valley.

The cost is $40.00 for singles and $75.00 for couples. Make checks payable to PCHS Class of 1982 Reunion, P. O. Box 46, Fort Valley, GA.

In celebration of Constitution Day, Georgia's 5th grade youth at Crawford County Elementary School and Kay Road Elementary in Byron will receive a visit from Representative Robert Dickey.

That's according to a Georgia Federation of Republican Women news release.

Fort Valley, Ga. – President Obama’s Winning the Future initiative recognized “Champions of Change” Sept. 6, and one of Fort Valley State University’s deans was among those honored at the White House.

Dr. Govind Kannan, who oversees the College of Agriculture, Family Sciences and Technology, gained notice for his commitment to Strengthening Food Security in the United States and around the world. He also served as a panelist who addressed global food security stakeholders.

Those recognized know hunger is an issue that touches the lives of people all around us. Using innovative approaches, the champions are striving to ensure that no man, woman or child goes hungry and are inspiring others to do the same.

Jones Zone | Who Will Win: Peach County or Perry?

The Jones Zone kicks off the 2012 football schedule this week! Ben and Lorra go head to head each week picking their game winners.

They want you to also weigh in and vote! This week, you can vote for Peach County vs. Perry, Tattnall vs. Westfield and Dublin vs. Dodge County.

Last year, Lorra took home the Jones Zone championship, but you, the fans, fought hard to make her win as narrow as possible. Even Ben wasn't far behind!

This year, we're starting fresh. Everyone's record is reset, and the challenge is back on!

If you're new to the Jones Zone, each week, Ben, Lorra, and the fans vote on who will win three games from around Central Georgia. The polls are located below, and you just choose who you think will win. Every Wednesday, Ben and Lorra will make their picks, but you can still vote until right up until the games start!

Tykes, Tots and Teens Consignment Sale Returns

The Tykes, Tots and Teens Consignment Sale returns to the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter this weekend.

The sale is open from August 10, 11 and 12. 

There will be items fro infants, kids, teens and expecting mothers. You'll find items like clothes, toys, books, strollers, high chairs, pack 'n' plays, bouncy seats, youth furniture and more.

The hours are:
Friday, August 9: 9-8
Saturday, August 10: 9-8
Sunday, August 11: 9-6 (closed 1-2 p.m. for Dollar Dash preparations)

Sunday is 50 percent off day from 9-6: any tag with a star or marked discount yes will be half price.

Dollar Dash: Sunday 2pm – 6pm, any tag with a large bold D or marked donate yes will be $1.
