Its been a long off season for the Fort Valley State Wildcats. Ending 2011 with a disappointing 2-8 record.
But Saturday, Coach Don Pittman and the Cats started off the season with a great win.
Playing the role of underdog on the road. The Wildcats took the "W" over 16th ranked Delta State in Mississippi after trailing 23 to 9 at the half.
Former Peach County quarterback, Antonio Henton threw two second half touchdown passes coupled along with Seth Hill's 154 yards rushing sealed the deal, 31-23.
Tuesday morning the blue and gold were back on the practice field, preparing for this weekends game with Valdosta State but feeling good about their Week 1 showing.
Saturday, FVSU looks to play the role of spoiler again on the road in Valdosta against the VSU Blazers.
