Byron man accused of sealing kittens in bag, killing dog | News
A Byron man was arrested and charged with seven counts of animal cruelty for what police say he did to some kittens and his dog.
Police were called Sunday to Ronald Wade Trawick's home at 103 Williamsburg Trail after a neighbor said he was beating his dog with a garden hose.
Once they were at the home, police found a tied bag containing newborn kittens thrown under a table, according to a Byron police news release.
Police went back to the home Monday with a search warrant and found several animals on the property and 18 marijuana plants.
Neighbors told investigators that Trawick beat and killed one of his dogs. Police removed a dead dog from a shallow grave in the backyard and neighbors identified it as one Trawick told someone he killed after it took a steak from the dining room table, the news release states.
The kittens are being cared for by a veterinarian and eight dogs and eight cats were confiscated from the home, according to the news release.
Along with facing felony animal cruelty charges, Trawick also faces felony drug charges.
