There's An App for That: Evernote | Families
Evernote has become one of my favorite apps. I use it to store all kinds of information that I will want to retrieve later, things such as a great recipe from a friend, screenshots of other websites I am inspired by as I revamp my own website, and quotes that I want to remember. Basically Evernote is now my go-to spot to save anything I am going to need later.
On their website Evernote declares that their suite of apps makes “modern life manageable, by letting you easily collect and find everything that matters.” And it does! The information you store in Evernote can be grouped into folders, similar to how you might group like papers in your filing cabinet. It also has a very robust search feature that allows you to search for any keyword or text within your stored notes. For example, I have saved links to a couple of online forms I’ve developed for new clients. I can search for “new client”, “Jotnote” or even just “form” to pull up the right information without having to remember in which folder I put it.
One of the things I like best about this app is that it not only sync between my iPhone and my iPad but it is also synced in the cloud and with my laptop. So no matter where I go and can access these snippets of information.
What I know about Evernote is this - I know just the absolute basics and I know there is so much more this app can do. If you want to delve deeper into Evernote, I suggest you check out Josh Zerkel, Productivity specialist and Evernote Productivity Ambassador, of Custom Living Solutions. He has great information to share.
