FVSU President Rivers to Resign in 2013 | Education

The Fort Valley State University President plans to resign effective June 30, 2013.
According to a FVSU news release, Larry E. Rivers announced his plan to step down.
By June 2013, Rivers will have served as the University president for seven years.
"President Rivers has positioned Fort Valley State University for outstanding success in the twenty-first century," said USG Chancellor Hank Huckaby. "He has made major contributions to Fort Valley and it is my hope Dr. Rivers will continue to give of his experience in the University System at the conclusion of his presidency."
Rivers told Huckaby that he plans to resume his teaching career in history.
