My Teacher Is Tops: Jamie Arrington | Education
Title (Max 100 Characters)
Jamie Arrington, a 5th grade math teacher at Byron Elementary School, says she loves getting to know her students. She says, "I've known a lot of these kids since they first came to Byron Elementary and teaching them and watching them grow up is very special."
Two of her students, Landon Davis and Simon Grant, think Arrington is pretty special too. The duo wrote a letter to WMAZ telling us how she makes learning math easy and fun.
Both of them say she brings the classroom to life with games and activities.
Davis says, "When she teaches, she doesn't get mad. She just has fun teaching."
Another classmate, Lidia Story says, "She shows us how to have fun with math and enjoy it."
Many of her students say she even makes fractions easy to lear.
Arrington says, "I push them really hard, make them do more than they think they are capable of doing, because I want them to be successful in here and in life."
Chase Pendleton says math has always been his favorite subject, but Arrinton adds an element of fun and understanding to the equation. He says, "he's my favorite teacher and she always will be."
Grant says solving math problems will never be the same without Arrington's quick wit. He says, "I wish she could keep moving up the years so I could have her every year until high school."
