The camp will feature instruction from legendary FVSU Women’s Basketball Head Coach Lonnie Bartley and high school coaches from the surrounding area.  Both women and men players from the FVSU Basketball Program will assist in the teaching of basketball fundamentals such as dribbling, shooting, passing, offensive and defensive positioning, and basketball strategies.

Crimestoppers Luncheon

The Rotary Club of Centerville hosts the fifth annual David Pierce Memorial Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 18th at the Museum of Aviation, Century of Flight Building to benefit Crimestoppers and its Student Crimestoppers programs. Governor Sonny Perdue will be the guest speaker.

"In 2010, Macon Regional Crimestoppers' tipsters offered information leading to the arrests of 428 arrests from Baldwin, Bibb, Crawford, Houston, Jones, Monroe, Peach and Twiggs counties on various charges.  More than $22,000.00 in stolen property was recovered, and more than $2,500.00 worth of drugs was seized.

Those tips, which resulted in a payout of about $62,500.00 in rewards, were made possible because of the donations to the nonprofit organization. The program allows callers to remain anonymous when submitting tips on wanted people in an eight county area and receive up to a $1,000.00 upon the wanted person's arrest.
