Fort Valley Shooting Suspect Arrested in Florida | Crime

A man who allegedly critically wounded a woman in a Saturday night shooting in Fort Valley is now in custody.
A news release from Police Chief Lawrence Spurgeon says 26-year-old Brandon Strickland of Newnan is now in custody in Gainesville, Fla. on drug-trafficking charges.
No further information on the arrest is available.
A news release from Spurgeon says the shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. at 413 Anderson Ave. He said officers found 27-year-old Dandra McKay had been shot.
She was taken to the Medical Center of Central Georgia where, Anderson said, she is now in critical condition.
The release says Strickland was the suspected shooter.
