Crawford Co. School Employee Charged With Molestation | Crime
A Crawford County school employee faces a dozen charges, including child molestation.
That's according to a news release from the Crawford sheriff's office.
They say a sheriff's investigator met Wednesday with school officials about a complaint. That led to the arrest of 28-year-old Carlteze James Saffold.
Crawford County Superintendent John Douglas says Saffold is a para-professional at Crawford County Middle School. He also said the incidents that led to the charges did not occur on school property.
Saffold is accused of four counts of sexual exploitation of children, four counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes, and four counts of molestation.
Saffold went before Superior Court Judge Phillip Brown this morning for a bond hearing. His bail was set at $100,000.
The Georgia Bureau Investigation is assisting with the investigation.
Jamie Jones, an agent in the GBI's Perry office, said the charges involve four different teenaged students. He said Saffold apparently knew them through his position at the school, but they're investigating whether the case was connected to the school in any other way.
He declined to comment further on the circumstances.
