Southern Fields is a folklore comedy written by Irwin County native playwright, Waylon Day.

His sister, Paula Johns, co-pastor at The Rain Church in Warner Robins, is the director.

The setting is WW11 during the Normandy invasion. Thomas and Annie Davis are from Osierfield, GA and we get to see their thoughts, humor, and storytelling with the backdrop of a pending tragedy.

Carla Gowen plays Thomas’s mother. Zac Gowen does the sound and will play Mr. Burden, the tax man, when the play goes to Fitzgerald on July 27.
