Car Show in the Valley

Antique car lovers throughout the state are saying goodbye to the harsh winter weather and polishing their machines for a spring showcase.

Fort Valley State University  President Larry E. Rivers and the Boys and Girls Club of Georgia Heartlands are revving up for the 5th Annual Wheels in the Valley Car, Truck, and Motorcycle Show, an FVSU news release says.

Classic hot rods, tricked out trucks and impeccably restored Chevys, Fords, and Mopars will line the Wildcat Stadium parking lot Saturday, April 30.

This year, the competition has two new categories: a best student entry and a “Student’s Choice Award”.

The family-friendly event is packed with entertainment for participants of all ages. Throughout the day, competitors and onlookers will enjoy classic old-school music, sideline games, activities, inflatables and vendor booths.

The top 100 plaques and specialty trophies will be presented at a special awards ceremony.

To allow time for judging, the 8 a.m. registration ends at 11:30 a.m. The awards ceremony begins at 3 p.m.

The entry fee for pre-registered cars, trucks and motorcycles is $20; $10 per additional vehicle.

On-site registration is $25. Proceeds benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Georgia Heartlands and FVSU’s scholarship fund.
